Marcum is scheduled to miss only one start with the All-Star break on the horizon, but will undergo an MRI soon to determine the severity of the issue.

The 28-year-old Marcum has bounced back from Tommy John surgery that caused him to miss the entire 2009 campaign. He has pitched to a respectable 3.44 earned-run average through 17 starts this season, compiling a 7-4 record and 88 strikeouts in 107 1/3 innings.

The right-hander lasted four frames against the Indians on Thursday and gave up six runs -- five earned -- on five hits and three walks in a 6-1 setback.
