05/24/2010 - St. Louis, MO (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - An MRI scan on the right forearm of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Kyle Lohse showed no evidence of structural damage, but did reveal post-exercise inflammation.
Lohse was rocked in his last start, as he gave up six runs in 3 1/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Angels. He had experienced discomfort in his forearm during the outing.
There is no timetable for Lohse's return, as he will undergo further evaluation. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Monday that Lohse will see a specialist in Los Angeles.
Lohse has struggled at times this season, going 1-4 with a 5.89 earned run average in nine starts, and is the second Cardinals starter to have injury issues recently. St. Louis placed Brad Penny on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a strain to his right latissimus dorsi muscle.
